The first Rome Leadership Prayer Breakfast was held in 1993. Two decades have passed, but the purpose of the Prayer Breakfast has remained the same: to unite area citizens to pray for our nation, our community and our families. The Prayer Breakfast speakers encourage morality and ethics in the community and raise awareness of the issues that surround and affect families nationwide. We are also challenged to make a difference for Christ right where we are. We have had many well-known and interesting speakers, including Dave Dravecky, Frank Reich, Truett Cathy and Cal Thomas. Local leaders read scripture and lead in separate prayers for our military, police and firefighter personnel; elected officials; members of the medical and business community; educators and students; families; and pastors and churches. |
